Program Overview

Cairns Netball Association’s Men’s Competition is a dedicated 10-week competition designed to support the growth of male participation in netball across the region. The competition provides a structured, social and competitive environment where players can develop their skills, stay active and enjoy the game alongside teammates and friends. With the rapid growth of men’s netball locally and nationally, this competition offers a clear entry point into the sport while also supporting more experienced players.

Competition format

The Men’s Competition runs as a short-format season, making it ideal for both new and returning players.

10-week competition
Typically includes a regular season + finals
Designed for flexibility and accessibility

The 2026 competition is scheduled to commence from early May, aligning with the broader winter netball season.

How It Works

Team-Based Competition

Players can:

Enter as a team
Join with friends, colleagues or club members
Register individually (subject to team placement availability)

Unlike traditional club structures, men’s competitions often allow more flexibility in how teams are formed.

Weekly Games

Played mid-week (aligned with senior competition schedule)
Held at Cairns Netball Association courts
One game per week

Games are played in a structured environment with:

Umpires
Scoring systems
Standard netball rules
